I would take month or two off from GW to rest up then I would even in prophecies.I won't be playing that much this summer as last summer i want to enjoy it.I would of fineshed your Necro and Monk off in prophecies before moving on in to factions.

Don't like competative games. That's why I grew up playing RPGs rather than say, sports or chess.

But for someone who doesn't mind competitive games, sure, switching to PvP after finishing PvE is a logical choice.

I went through Prophecies with two characters the regular way. After that, the next two characters went straight to the forge (yes, was run there) to get max armor. I've gone through most of Prophecies with all of them, deleted one or two along the way to try out the other classes (all being ran to the Forge). What made me play through Prophecies again was the fact that you can be run to get the best armor after presearing. The fact that I can go through the early missions feeling pretty powerful made me enjoy it because I really see no point in going through the same game the same way all 6+ times.

Now, the story is different with Factions. After I completed the game the normal way, I did not have any motivation to continue on with my other characters or a new character. Why? Because I can't be run anywhere? Maybe. More like, I do not want to go through the grind in the beginning where there are quests that are all compressed into the same areas for you to gain a lot of experience (enough to get to level 20 with a new character). IMO, the way the quests were laid out in Factions seemed more like GRIND than going through the story. I don't do the quests the same way I did them in Prophecies with Factions. Heck, I don't even want to read what the NPCs had to say.

I'd also like to blame the green arrows that are now implemented to guide you while you're doing quests. These days, I think players tend to follow the arrows rather than read the quest descriptions. I know I do. Hahaha.

I'd like to see things be done differently in the third chapter. I want that Prophecies-feel back.

bought this game last year.
my birthday should be this week

first character was a monk. was pretty fun.
i got 600k xp on him which is pretty good considering how often i play GW.

second character was a W/Me. It was sooo weak and pathetic that i brought him down to thunderhead and deleted him soon after.

my third character was a remade W/Mo. rather skilled.
on its way to get the mission completion title.

fourth character was my ele.
i got it to lvl 14 at riverside province then i quit because it was so boring

fifth character was a ranger/necro.
still lvl 18 as I quit playing GW 3 months before faction release and havent leveled it to this day.

sixth character was a IWAY pvp char. it was boring to play so i gave up and let him rot as a mule and was deleted.

seventh character was when factions came out.
assassin. boring. unliked.
got it to vasburg armoury and i dont want to delete him until i get my amulet

eighth and most favourite character is my necro.
still working on beating the shiverpeak missions to i can get some skills at ELC to go PvPing with him.

ninth character that im working on is another ele.
lvl 11 and I plan to work on it when i finish thunderhead on my necro.

and yeh.
that is 1 year of playing.

I cant say that GW is boring.
I love factions as much as I loved prophecies.

yep.

so i deleted my first warrior, my iway pvp char, and my first ele
and my assassin is gunna be gone to make room for a pvp slot.

so i guess that is 3 successful characters, and 2 of them incomplete.

Wow, some great stories and suggestions guys and girls.

I think I may have finally gotten over my slump by working on a Geomancer (the AoE of a Nuker, yet far more fun in my eyes) and I've rekiddled my interest in PvE.

As for the suggestion for PvP, I have tried it before and found I lag far too much to be effective there. :[

It might just be the pve part of the game. I cant play through the pve game without being bored and/or getting run no matter what class i play. I havent even bothered finishing factions I find it so boring. But thats just me.

Lets see.

1st char (and my favorite) is my E/Mo lv20 which has completed Prof and Facitions.

2nd char is my N/Mo lv20 completed prof and 2nd to last level in factions

3rd char is my Mo/Rt (was Mo/E) Lv20 completed Prof and is somewhere in factions (lol can't remember)

4th char is my Rt/Mo which is at the 3rd to last level in factions

5th char is my A/Mo which is at the 3rd to last level in factions

Not sure what I'll make for my 6th slot? Never really liked playing as a warrior so I might try out a ranger and see what this "barrage" is all about, or leave the 6th slot spare ready for GW: Chapter 3.

The problem with Factions I feel is that in Prof you advanced to a new location everytime you advanced in the story line. In factions it doe's happen, but not as much.

I started out in a similar fashion, made a Nec whom I adored, got to post searing, and realised I had made a few mistakes. By then I had made an ele as well. So I ended up re-creating my nec, but first chose to complete the game with the ele. I kinda rushed through the missions, and picked up on a few things which gave me some ideas for new characters. One was people complaining about how bad all monks are.

I took the challenge and made a monk to see what the deal was. I gotto be honest, the idea of playing a monk until then did not appeal. I played my monk and nec side by side, completing all quests and missions at a steady pace. These 2 characters were what ended up giving me my great love for the game. Playing a monk can be very satisfying (and i can energy manage too, so no need for BR ), and I can now say, she is definitely one of my favourites.

Needing ways to make money, I decided to try the warrior class (my least favourite at the time), in the hopes of making money running. I ended up having a blast bludgeoning my way through the campaigns. She also gave the ability to test some stuff out before attempting with my other characters, been a little hardier. Having used my 4 slots, I was gutted that I was unable to try the preview event for factions, so ended up buying a 2nd copy as I did not want to delete any of my beloved characters. This gave me the opportunity to explore the mesmer and ranger.

Playing a mesmer is actually a hell of a lot more fun than I thought it would be, and although she only passed sanctum cay last night, I think this profession is one of the strongest casters. Yes, I am trawling through Tyria again, but that’s just because I didn’t really like the faces for Factions

Last but not lease are my 2 new Factions characters – A ritualist, and a ranger (which ive actually been waiting for a while to play – but again just didn’t fancy the tyrian faces). These are proving interesting, and quite fun too, although they are still babes in terms of hours played.

Bottom line for me is, Ive now got 7 ‘active’ characters, all at different stages, so I always find it interesting to play. Ill be honest and say the ‘upkeep’ part can be tough, having to do it all over and over, but it does make you better at doing things.

well this is my story:

a year ago i started an E/N - finished the game with him

Then made a mo/me - finished everything with him

Then made a W/mo - finished everything with him

Then i thought, i wana make a necro, so i deleted me ele. And ive finished everything with my necro.

Then i thought, hey i dont like the name of my warrior anymore - so i deleted him (even tho he has 15k armor :S) and started him again and finsihed everything with him.

Then i thought - hey actually male monks are kinda ugly, so i deleted my monk and remade a female one which i finished every thing with.

When factions came out, I made a assassin (which i love) and hav now completed the factions campain with and most of prophecies,

And i hav jst started a ritualist (already lvl 20 )

and of course ihav a pvp slot.
